Re-birth of softball in Shepparton

Softball is a sport that can be played by both men and women from age 8 to 80. The Social 7s softball product is a modified version of the sport that caters for all abilities, ages and skill levels - using a softer ball, modified equipment and rules and does not require a traditional softball diamond, just some open space. This will allow softball to once again be a popular sport in Shepparton.

This project will deliver Social 7s softball to the wider community and school groups to ignite the passion that the community once held for softball.

The Shepparton community will benefit through having opportunities to participate in Social 7s softball games in their local area. Local coaches and school teachers will be provided with free training and accreditation to coach softball programs throughout the year, and community members of all ages and abilities will be able to participate in a fun, inclusive and social sports environment.

In addition, a base level of equipment will be provided to schools and community groups to help drive interest in the sport and ultimately achieve a sustainable softball community within Greater Shepparton.
