The Boolarra Folk Festival literally needs a new stage to keep putting on their annual music festival. Loved by both locals and visitors, the Boolarra folk Festival has suddenly lost access to the mobile stage it has been hiring for the last 16 years. The festival cannot find a comparable stage at an affordable price so the only option is to commission one. It will be 3m x 9m, with rigging, canopy, side rails and stairs, exactly like the one they have been using for the last 16 years, it will also be available for community events throughout the year.
The Boolarra Folk Festival is a free annual music event. The festival has provided many opportunities for local musicians to perform at a large outdoor festival, and for visitors and locals to gather for a large community run event. The purchase of a mobile stage will enable the festival to continue to stage this music event and provide the opportunity to hold other events during the year. This stage would be the only mobile stage available for community and cultural events within Latrobe City, and so similar local community groups, as well as those in nearby areas, will directly benefit.

The Boolarra Folk Festival is the biggest one day annual event in Gippsland and one all Gippslanders can be proud of Having a movable stage that can be rolled into the park used and out again would be a terrific community asset.
The festival committee already has the shed for storage, just does not have a stage to put in it.

The Boolarra Folk Festival is a community institution after 16 years of providing a fantastic music event so for it to continue successfully we need funding for a mobile stage which could also be used for other events/functions within our vibrant community.

Great idea. Besides helping to cut Festival costs it could be used to generate some income for the Festival, helping to keep the event sustainable and rolling on. It will also provide the community a wonderful asset that could be used at other events, making our outdoor areas even more flexible, fun and inviting for other events.
