A community vehicle would be a wonderful asset for anyone who has no driving experience and is too nervous - or physically unable - to use a scooter, but who makes her way painfully and slowly to activities in the Community Centre because the social contact makes it worthwhile for her.
Such a person would gain a sense of independence and not have to rely on the kindness of someone who may offer to
drive her home.

This is a village of about 520 people with an average age of 84 years. Transport is required to move those requiring it from their homes to community events within the village in which they live.
There is a need to transport members of our village, either because of age or disability, to and from community events. This will help residents have a greater social participation and the ability to attend other wellbeing events held regularly in their village.

We have lived here for 11 years & it has been very sad to see our hundreds of elderly & infirm folk struggling to & from our superb Community Centre on our long roads ~ especially in the heat or rain. We know that many of them just cannot make it to our activities, fun times, Concerts & Meetings ~ or just having coffee with friends (SO important if you are on your own).. This magic transporter would transform the lives of so many here! petehath 4/9/18
I think will be great help to residents with mobility problem, help them to remain mobile, independent and can participate in village activities they wish to attend.
As people age it is important that they are able to maintain contact with friends and continue with the activities and entertainment they enjoy. Ours is a vibrant village with a range of activities in our community centre every day. A transport vehicle such as this, with ease of access, would help enable those with temporary, or permanent disability, to continue to attend their chosen activities in the community centre.
It is important for people as they age to maintain social contact through activities with friends. Ours is a vibrant village with a variety of activities in the community centre every day. Any temporary, or permanent, lack of mobility of a resident can be offset with an easily accessible "transporter" to take them to and from the activities they wish to attend. .
This vehicle is badly needed for transporting elderly residents who are unable to walk to the Community Centre and to participate in activities which will help them to remain mobile and independent.
This vehicle is urgently needed for transporting seniors in the village with physical limitations preventing their participation in community activities.
We have a lovely village, 350 units, apartments and approx. 500 residents. This would be a great asset to village life for a number of residents who because of various health issues are unable to walk the distance to the community centre to participate in activities.
This is a very large village and while we are not needing the community transport vehicle yet ourselves we have neighbours beside and behind us who are in their nineties and find the distance around the village is making it difficult for them and many others to enjoy the social interaction that is available to us all.
Would get lots of use in this village due to its approximately 400 residents, and the size of the village. Relationships and participation in the village's numerous activities are encouraged, and transport of this type would be an invaluable asset.
We live in a really lovely village but it does require a lot of walking to get to the hub- the community centre.Transport would be such an asset.
for this large village - helpful improvement
What a wonderful initiative! So many of the residents are restricted because of physical problems and are therefore unable to take part in the village activities. It's so important to interact with others - this is a great way to combat loneliness.
This would be a great advantage in this very large village. The distances are too great for some of the residents to walk, it would be beneficial for everyone to be able to attend some of the many events the villagers hold.
Cherry Tree village is a large village, with many activities available, but some residents are unable to walk to the community centre, so cannot take part.
Transport such as proposed would allow many of our shut-in residents to be part of village life. A real life changer!

Much needed in this ageing retirement community. As had been said by many, social interaction is most important for the elderly.
