We are celebrating Princes Park as a space for women with a series of running track markers commemorating local heroines who have used the space. Local community organisations and clubs will be invited to nominate women who have made major contributions to our community to 'host a post'. Nominees will be represented on markers designed by a local artist and positioned around the 3km circuit, starting with a information board to introduce the women. The project will finish up with a launch party walk around the circuit with 'post hosts' revealing their marker and telling their story.
This project is a reinforcer that this community values women and the contributions they have made to the space. Princes Park is the training ground for some of the communities strongest women. Women who run, kick, serve and create. Be inspired by our local heroines who have made their mark on our community - it's not just a Princes' park, it's a Princess' park too!
The posts will not only motivate people to make it to the next marker, they will provide an inspirational pathway for other young girls or women to follow in their footsteps.

gorgeous project, women are so absent from the historical markers and statues despite their contribution and so much to celebrate!
