The Cranbourne Public Hall wishes to install new solar panels and a battery system as it will significantly reduce operating costs, with expected savings of $105,000 over a 13 year period. The benefits will be both financial and environmental. Solar feed-in tariff credits are a secondary benefit from having a solar system installed. Instead, we as a Hall would derive the most value out of a self-generated solar energy by ‘self-consuming‘ it – using as much energy as directly possible. This saving would provide the Hall with much needed funds to further develop the facility.

Having the solar panels and battery installed would mean great savings to the Hall, these savings would also be passed on as lower fees to the community for use of the Hall - having the opportunity to undertake projects with our community in the area through community events, which we would like to start in 2019. This would be a great environmentally sustainable initiative - showcasing what the community can do to be self-sustainable. No longer having to pay electricity bills will benefit the Hall but the community overall.

Solar power is readily available and this grant would support energy generation and sustainability, as well as reducing costs over time for the groups who utilise the public hall.

I support this grant for solar panels for cranbourne public hall as this hall is available to various hirers in and around Cranbourne, therefore the solar panels would be an asset as it would save on the cost of power which is quite expensive.
I would ask whoever is looking at this grant to make a favourable decision on behalf of the cranbourne public hall.
