Portland Bowling club was established in 1880. It moved location in 1969 and remains at its current address in Portland.
Resurfacing of synthetic Green B is the number one priority that the Club needs financial support to complete. At a total cost of $189,780 the Club has adopted a long term strategy for Green’s resurfacing. With visiting players and growing membership the conditions of the greens is paramount to a successful club. We therefore hope that this application receives support for the future of the club.

Portland Bowling Club has been in existence for over 137 years. Established in 1880, the club has continued to thrive even though the structure of the club has remained not-for-profit and isolated itself from the temptation of installing poker machines and the like. It currently has 126 members and hosts annual tournaments, which cater between 400 and 500 players at any one time. All demographics within our community either play or are a part of our proud club. We have participants with disabilities, Indigenous opportunities and normal bowls competition throughout the year.

Been a Member for 37 years and have traveled to a lot of Clubs and the volunteer work that members contribute second to none most of our members are above 70 years and are unable to do the work that we use to so a Grant to do some upgrades would be most welcome

As a new member I find this the most welcoming bowling club I have been associated with.
