Point Lonsdale: Born to Rock!

Point Lonsdale: Born to Rock! will bring music education to our vibrant beachside village with a community musical garden, which will be open and accessible to the entire community as part of Point Lonsdale Primary School's culture of being an inclusive and active community space.

The musical instrument library will be housed at the Primary School and available for hire by the wider community.

A music education program, including a choir and group instrument lessons, utilising the musical garden and instrument library will be available to primary students who will then perform in local community arts and cultural events.

We're home to the Queenscliffe Music Festival yet lack access to community music education facilities. This project will provide access to and build on connection with the Queenscliffe Music Festival and Point Lonsdale 'Lighting of the Christmas Tree' event.

Our community plus the tourist community will come together, enjoy and learn through access to the garden and instrument library.

This project will support the Queenscliffe Council Strategic Objectives of enhancing opportunities for participation in arts and cultural activities and promoting shared use of community facilities. Furthermore, it aligns with the themes of the Barwon Regional Partnership.
