The School’s sense of community is demonstrated by providing liberal access to our small site after school hours, on weekends and school holidays. The school gates are never locked and the local community uses the space, play equipment and ball-game areas as their backyard. Community members embrace this opportunity as most local houses are on small urban land parcels.

Funding is required to replace the softfall (tanbark) with rubberised matting, therefore reducing the ongoing maintenance and cost.

This grant aligns with our fundraising objective of providing a diverse range of quality programs and facilities to the school and wider community.

The school recognises the importance of the local community and values a collaborative partnership in the delivery of education. Families and teachers participate in a range of programs to support and develop community relations, including active play which extends to the broader City of Port Phillip (CoPP) community.

Sharing the playground with the CoPP community means the wear and tear on equipment and ground surface is considerable, requiring ongoing funding. The project to lay rubberised matting will therefore benefit both students at our school and families in the CoPP, by ensuring an appealing and safe playground with minimal maintenance required.

Please consider this project for the Albert Park and CoPP community. The school playground and surrounds are heavily used by members of the community before and after school, on weekends and over school holidays. Children deserve a safe and comfortable place to play and this would be a vast improvement on what is currently there. It would also stop the issue of the bark being blown - disturbed by play outside of the school area which increases the cost of upkeep.

Would be far safer/kinder than the splinter inducing tan bark!
But seriously would make it a lot gentler for all the kids in the community. The softfall products found in many public parks in the community work well... especially the pale tan colours in Summer.

This would be a great upgrade for our community playground, that's being heavily used not only by school families but also by all families in the area.

This playground is a key part of our neighborhood and community, provides a safe place for children to have fun with their friends and family while keeping active. It's a really important resource for local families with little or no backyard.

Please consider this project for our community as the school playground is used by all locals every day and at weekends. The kids that attend the school and kids from the surrounding area deserve a safe place to play and this would be a vast improvement on what is currently there.

Please consider this project for our community as the school playground is used by all locals every weekend, not just the APPS kids during school hours. Thanks. This would be a vast improvement on what is currently there.

This playground area is well used by the community with children of all age groups and is also essential for the school.
