Photography for Youth and Community builds offers an innovative creative solution via engagement in photographic art education in order to up-skill regional young artists, promoting positive youth identity in a new self-directed way and providing pathways for the future.

With regional young people less able to access arts opportunities Ballarat International Foto Biennale aims to engage young people in art activities to highlight the value of themselves and education, instill a pride of place, and increase civic pride to reduce the possibility of offending behaviour.
This project will positively decorate the community in which the young people live with photographic paste-ups they have designed.
Young people will learn new skills through a year-round workshop program and there will be a drive to recruit those who are disengaged from education. The project will culminate in an outdoor exhibition.
