The transformation of this existing public asset, constructed on a low budget in 1994 as a community education shelter, will provide a versatile and inspiring nature precinct. The current pole-construction layout limits its use as an educational and recreational space. Enclosing the southern end to create an all-weather auditorium and repurposing the northern structure into a child-friendly adventure resource will create a new and dynamic multi-purpose pavilion.
The redevelopment will create a space for diverse environmental presentations and private gatherings for up to 200 people. It will be powered sustainably and become a welcoming hub for community and visitors alike.

Following the gifting of land by VicRoads in 1991, the Arboretum has been a volunteer-driven community enterprise. Land restoration and education programmes at the 27 hectare site have lifted the profile, but the picnic shelter offers inadequate protection from the elements. Dated design and materials limit its potential for wider use, including multi-media presentations, conferences and school excursions.
The bold yet functional design will pay tribute to past and present scholars and volunteers and celebrate their legacy. A fresh focus and dynamic build will connect a new generation of students, parents and travellers to nature and our extraordinary environmental heritage.

The Euroa Arboretum has been a valuable resource to our Kindergarten in Euroa. It has provided an outdoor space where children have had the opportunity to engage in a monthly bush kinder program that provides early learning and development to occur in a natural setting. It has been beneficial in teaching children how to be resourceful without the need for man made manufactured products, it has given children the space to learn about nature, and human impact on it. It has allowed children's physical skills and resilience to increase as they engage in guided risk taking climbing trees, balancing on logs, and negotiate ways of crossing creeks, and muddy pools They have learnt to deal with the unexpected,( getting wet, dirty -although this isn't a problem for most). Their interest and understanding of nature has increased which we hope will assist them to be thoughtful and considerate custodians of our land in the future and be aware of their footprint on it.
The redevelopment will allow our bush kinderfarten program to operate during inclement weather. It will also give increased access to a broad range of users and interest groups where they can participate in workshops, information sessions, and recreational pursuits whilst enjoying the natural surrounds.
We would love to see the Euroa Arboretum well utilised by more people who can share their experiences with others and help put Euroa not only on the tourist map, but also as an important learning hub that increases peoples knowledge and understanding of environmental diversity.

This project can be a further valuable tourism boost for Strathbogie Shire, providing better
facilities for an 'oasis' of indigenous flora and fauna for our community, tourists and travellers.

The Euroa Arboretum is a treasured bushland retreat : for Euroa residents and for the popular Bush Kinder, for travellers, and for any one wishing to source local native plants and to experience an evolving restoration of an indigenous landscape. This project will enable the Euroa Arboretum to further its vision of fostering knowledge and understanding and appreciation of the local environment for all ages, and from near and far.

Climate change challenges mean we need to get much more informed about environmental matters - the Euroa Arboretum is already informing a wide spectrum of people and age groups about the co-benefits of doing good environmental
planning. This project will enhance that capacity in many ways. It is a project for a confronting future.

Euroa Arboretum is a real asset to Shire of Strathbogie residents offering advice, support, research, education and the opportunity to source plants indigenous the the local area thus improving the local landscape. An events space will enhance all of the arboretum's activities.

Hands-on environmental education will only increase from now on, and what better way to ensure this by creating a unique space to facilitate it.

Euroa Arboretum is such a well loved space and a fabulous setting in a restored bushland. A space for events - whether they be for school groups, art displays, music or theatre would be a brilliant addition for the Arboretum and Euroa.

There could be so many events, talks, workshops in this space and could bring so many more people to the Arboretum. A worthy project and public space!

The Arboretum is wonderful but it could be so much more. Thank you to all the volunteers who have worked so hard to make it what it is today. A new pavilion would enhance their work and open it up to so many more people and attract visitors to Euroa.

This is such a versatile public space which has appeal to a broad range of users and lots of different activities. The upgrading of the present undercover area will enhance the amenity of the space and greatly increase the number of visitors, their enjoyment and the range of uses that they can enjoy.

This has the potential to be a game-changing project for Euroa and surrounds.

Not only could it be used for community events - as described - but, depending on whether the leaf is in the final design, it could be used for concerts and small-scale music and cultural festivals.

Given Euroa's proximity to Melbourne AND this site's proximity to the freeway, it lends itself to so many different events and opportunities for our town.
