Fantastic idea. The ever popular rose garden, maintained by local volunteers, is free to visit. The construction of a walkway suitable for all in the community, regardless of their mobility and agility, would be a further asset to this haven of beauty and delight. Let's hope everyone votes for this project.

Mornington Botanical Rose Gardens were established and are now managed maintained and funded by the efforts of the volunteers. Our goal is to give more of the community access to the gardens especially those who may experience issues with disabilities or are mobility challenged. The pathway will run from the colonnade entrance to the existing ramp at the rotunda which offers shelter and shade then across the lawn to the toilet facilities.
The rose gardens received an Award of Garden Excellence 2015 from the World Federation of Rose Societies and offers a tranquil and peaceful space for those who visit to enjoy, relax and "smell the roses". Improved access would allow more members of the local and wider community especially those with mobility issues or disabilities to enjoy this amazing sensory experience of beauty, colour and fragrance.
