Paint Quamby will revitalise former and existing business frontages and public amenities that graced the business precinct. These iconic buildings have suffered through time and have been left to gracefully fade into the background. The project will provide a new and fresh makeover for five former and existing business facades and lift the moral of three public amenity buildings, enabling them to join with and celebrate a revitalised Quamby shopping precinct. Paint will be the major ingredient, along with some supporting frontage repairs which will enable the presentation of a new impressionable Quamby to its community and visitors.
The Quambatook community like many rural communities is facing rapid and confronting change to its livability and importance as a service centre for its immediate region. The business precinct has been impacted by business viability and subsequent closures. Public spaces once a vibrant component of community living have become less relevant and this has led to a loss of central pride in Quambatook.
The project will address a key component of the Quamby's vision to revitalise its core business precinct and lift the wellbeing of its residents allowing for a renewed sense of achievement by a small rural community.
