Chalambar Golf Club held its first Outdoor Market and Live Music Event in March 2018 and was a resounding success with over 700 people from the local community and beyond attending. The 27 stall holders at the Market were a mix of local manufacturers, charity organisations, micro businesses (first time in public) and private operators. The stall holders reported ongoing business activity as a result of the exposure. This project is seeking funds to improve and increase the infrastructure to enable the Markets and Live Music Events to be sustainable and grow.
The Ararat Community has very few Outdoor Markets and Live Music Events and demonstrated their interest by the large crowd who turned out for the inaugural event. Many families attended with kids activities, food and entertainment creating a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere. Many favourable comments were made endorsing the event and supporting the ongoing potential.
Elements of the funding will be for equipment which will also be made available to local groups such as Clubs, Emergency Services and Schools. eg: Food Van for fundraising events. An outdoor games area will also be developed and access provided to Community Groups.

A most worthwhile project, offering a venue for everyone to enjoy live music. Also a great space for local market stallowners to sell their merchandise to the public. A win for all members of the community....young and old!

This would be a great opportunity to have an even more suitable venue to hold Events for the young, the musicians to share their live music and would make Chalambar Golf Club even more versatile right through to events for the older as well as markets for people to display their hobbies and wares, with unlimited space, bringing people into Ararat from other areas.
