An Outdoor LED Video Screen at Bryan Martyn Oval has the potential to hold twilight cinema events for the community or become a live site in Newport for major sporting events such as AFL Grand Final or Melbourne Cup. In addition, the video screen will also be a scoreboard for weekly junior and senior football and cricket matches.
Bryan Martyn Oval is a very significant reserve for Newport residents and the Hobsons Bay community. Bryan Martyn Oval is home to a wide variety of community groups including football, cricket, netball, Dads of Newport (DONS), casual dog walkers, young families utilising the playground facilities, local school groups and fitness enthusiasts. The Video Screen will further activate the space and strengthen community engagement by providing additional opportunities for the community to come together.

This project sounds amazing! I'm sure the kids of Newport and surrounds would love to watch a movie on it in the Summer time or even a grand final or two. A great upgrade to continue to build community spirit and involvement.

Hi Angela,
This is a great idea. Good luck with it. I am applying for funds for the "Newport Urban Art Fence" Project. I thought it could be a great idea if the local projects team up together and promote each others projects (If 3 of us get together and promote each others projects I reckon our chance of success would go way up). I have written to the Newport station bicycle cage project also and think if the three of us team up we could give ourselves a good chance of success.
