Outdoor all weather arena

Portland Adult Riding Club and Portland Pony Club have a combined membership of approximately 80 members. At present there is an indoor riding arena, but members would love to ride outdoors more throughout the year, on an all weather arena. The provision of an all weather outdoor arena would allow riding all year round for adults and provide a safe environment for our young pony club members.
This arena would be used consistently by members of both clubs to train and school horses in dressage and also as a warm up area for competitions.

This all weather outdoor arena will benefit the community by providing an arena which can be utilised by all members through out the year. There is currently no safe area outdoors for young pony club members to ride, there is also a need for our dressage riders, who are competing at a high level, to train all year round and currently we do not have a facility outdoors where this can occur. There is an increasing number of equestrian events being held at Yarraman Park and this outdoor all weather arena would be fully utilised if it was available.
