CALD youth/children face several challenges in exploring their Australian identity on a backdrop of their culture of origin.

Project aims to build leadership and interpersonal and cultural awareness through traditional Tamil arts in a fun and creative way and build a bridge between their culture of origin and our Australian every day life. Utilising comparative learning, seeking to help the young to find a place for traditional art forms within the broader Australian cultural context.

1. Workshops on various traditional art forms, particularly Tamil
2. Leadership and cultural awareness camps

Open to all Australians and collaborative with other ethnic/cultural groups.

This project aims to assist the local youth/children in the following ways:

1. Assist with developing an understanding of the links and relationships between our Australian identity and personal identities (Australian/CALD/migrant etc)
2. Assist in utilizing their rich cultural identity for the betterment of the rich tapestry that multicultural Australia is evolving into
3. Identifying both cohesive and unhelpful factors in a multicultural society and assisting to enhance the cohesive factors and better manage and neutralize unhelpful factors
