OBTAINING A BUS FOR NOORAT PRIMARY SCHOOL

Noorat Primary is in a remote rural location that does not have public transport for students wishing to attend the school from a westerly, southerly and easterly direction, but only a northerly direction. There are many students that would like to attend Noorat Primary but are unable to attend due to parent work commitments or no vehicle transport at all. In the Barwon region families rely on education department buses to transport students to school but there has been no allocation for students to travel from the south. Noorat Primary student numbers have decreased to only 18 students.

The benefits will be varied with the use of the bus not only being used for transportation to and from school but will enable the students to attend functions and other education facilities granting them greater opportunities for wider exposure outside our rural area. Our school would attract greater numbers if we had a bus. I am a parent representative on School Council wanting the best for Noorat Primary and its students. Noorat Primary #1178 is in a new phase with a new Principal wanting to create opportunity.
