Such an iconic nature space deserves to be promoted in this way. Having people on hand to show and guide visitors will only bring good engagement and help preserve it.

Create a designated, landscaped meeting and activity area in the midst of this popular natural environment on the Bay Trail. Attracting more locals and visitors to socialise, celebrate, and learn about the outdoors for greater health and wellbeing. A scheduled pop-up cafe would attract people to meet and participate in a series of activities including: Ranger Ramblings, storytelling, birdwatching etc; permanent wayfinding signage to name and link these natural assets at pedestrian and vehicle entry points to guide the way; up to four interpretive sign-boards at different locations to highlight biodiversity for example, Ramsar wetlands, indigenous and cultural heritage.
Residents of Altona Meadows, Laverton and Altona live close to an environmental paradise at Truganina Park (100 Steps), Laverton Creek and the Hobsons Bay foreshore, adjacent to internationally recognised Ramsar wetlands. This area attracts visitors from across Melbourne and even overseas for its abundant birdlife. Encouraging people’s engagement with the outdoors and bringing people together increases health and wellbeing, social connectedness and encourages environmental stewardship. A landscaped area and signage will provide focal points for meeting and learning, including formal and informal events with the pop-up cafe, or for group use, such as nature play, art in the park.

Great idea, love the sound. It would be great to include a nature/natural playground too to really drive traffic and a community meeting space. Maybe that can be phase 2!
Amazing concept that I would like to see come to life!
This spot, at the 100 steps, is so important for people getting out. For example, it was great to see how many runners, bikers, dog-walkers there this morning. Let's vote for this project and make the spot better for people meeting up, running activities, or just stopping for a moment.
A project for lots of people to enjoy.
Deserves funding.
Very worthwhile project for a community looking to build strong links by knowing their fellow neighbours
A fantastic project that will provide great benefit to the whole community.
We all need a healthy environment to allow us to live the lifestyle we currently do. This project will assist greatly in this aim.
I agree that the proposed plan will enhance this place.
Great project, get behind it people
Would love to see this happen. We are fortunate to have this local asset.
Definitely a special place that can only enhanced by the proposed plan.
It's a wonderful area with lots of hidden gems. A project will improve the communities understanding and appreciation of the area. Hope it goes ahead and it gets my vote.
What a fabulous asset for the whole of Hobsons Bay and visitors alike. Showcasing the beautiful natural features and creating a shared space for education. This project gets my vote!
This a really worthwhile project and deserves your vote!
