Next Gen @ SBS endeavours to build on Southern Buoy Studios' purpose to celebrate, encourage and promote the arts by holding an exciting, inspiring and engaging series of annual arts education programs for children and youth. The series will offer the local youth community the opportunity to engage more deeply and meaningfully with the arts and complement our exhibition series. SBS will need to make minor upgrades to our space - including the construction and fitout of a small classroom. This space will also act as an informal and safe place for people to come, feel inspired and encouraged.
Next Gen @ SBS will offer a space and a series of programs and activities targeted specifically to local youth throughout the year, to create better access to the arts for children and youth. Further, having formalised programs and events tailored to children and youth will offer those who have an interest in the arts the opportunity to further develop their interest and skills and foster their passion. It is aimed to offer a safe, creative space; reach those who might not otherwise have access to the arts; and who may not attend other formalised education programs.
