Newlyn Football/Netball Club Football Goal Net Project

The Newlyn Football/Netball Club provides sporting, recreational and social opportunities for in excess of 200 participants from across a broad age spectrum. The Recreation Reserve where the activities are held has an internal road passing between the football oval and the netball/public toilet precinct. This road is the only access between the two areas and is used by all foot and vehicular traffic. The football goals are situated right next to the road and the safety issue is flying footballs landing and potentially hitting predestrians and cars. A safety net will catch the footballs and eliminate current risks and consequences.

A safety net will protect the patrons from potential personal injury as well as damage to vehicles. The Football/Netball Club and the opportunities it presents are an integral part of the local community and the provision of the net will stop the random landing of footballs and address the serious safety issue to the community at the reserve.
The safety net will also benefit the players allowing a better flow of the game without having to constantly retrieve the footballs.
