It would be fantastic to build a new bike shed for all the kids that ride to school. It will also encourage more kids to ride. Having a storage shed will also make it safer than the current situation of storing bikes along the walkways around the school. We need a concrete slab and a shed with a roof that can also be locked up. The sides can be enclosed or wire, such as in the photo. We have about 550 kids now, so the shed should be big enough for approximately 50 bikes. Thanks!
Encouraging kids and their carers to travel to school by bike is great for the community! The more people that use sustainable transport, the less congestion there will be on the roads, especially around the school. The more kids that ride, the safer it will be for others to ride, because there is safety in numbers and it creates greater awareness. Learning to commute by bike as a kid is also a great way to improve the health, fitness and wellbeing of the community and reduce obesity. Cycling is also great for the environment!

My son rides his bike, to school, everyday. It would be much better to have a covered over, secure place for the kids to leave their bikes. Hopefully this project is successful.
