The project aims to widen, re-shape and seal the entrance to the Cora Lynn Recreation Reserve. Currently, the entrance is narrow (one lane only), steep and provides poor visibility to oncoming traffic.
The Reserve is used by the Cora Lynn Football Club, both seniors and juniors and the Cora Lynn Netball Club, both seniors and juniors - for training twice a week and weekend games. As well, it is used by the Cora Lynn/Peninsula Show Jumping Club, local cricket clubs, caravanning groups, cycling groups and family groups using the playground and toilet facilities.

The main benefit of the project will be greater safety for all user groups. Since the recent completion of upgrades to Bunyip River Road - from Bunyip South to Cora Lynn - the road has experienced increased amounts of traffic travelling at increased speeds. This has made entering and leaving the Recreation Reserve more dangerous. A wider, flatter two lane entrance will result in much safer access.

A very worthwhile project that will benefit so many different user groups. The traffic on Bunyip River Road has increased over the years and so has the speed at which they travel. This will make accessing the reserve a lot safer.

Much needed upgrade for much used local facility.
