Balmoral's children's playground does not meet with current standards and lacks the imaginative and creative elements on which our children thrive. The block it sits in is not landscaped. A great potential exists to transform it into a unique nature playground with custom made, site specific sculptures, made from sustainably sourced timber. Our nature play elements will be designed specifically for the space and made by a team of artists, craftspeople and children's education experts with accessibility, safety and learning at the core of the design. Our local landscape designer will use Indigenous plants to enhance the experience.
Balmoral is a small, isolated town with an increasing number of children. We lack a modern and safe space for them to spend time in creative play, and their carers to relax. The existing play equipment is dated and the park is featureless. A stimulating play space designed specifically for the site would benefit children and families of all abilities, increasing the time people spend in Balmoral. A new parkland will be created for locals, and attract the tourists who pass through our town. This redevelopment will increase local participation and visitor stops and in turn benefit our economy.

It would be amazing to have a local shared space where children are engaged and encouraged to play with imagination. The enhanced opportunity for social connection between all facility users, including those isolated by distance and a farming lifestyle, will hold benefits that can be felt right across the community.

Balmoral township is looking great and has lots of new facilities:

Seymour Park tidier and green and with modern signage
New toilets with stencil artwork
RV camping available
Repainted poles in the main street
New businesses opening
Free public WIFI
The restored Information Shelter
BUT WE HAVE A PROBLEM: The children's playground lets the town down.
THE SOLUTION: That's why we need to recreate the space into a beautiful adventure playgound for children and improved amenities for all ages.
This project will benefit the WHOLE town, and encourage more travellers to stop, shop and rest a while in Balmoral.
It's got to be a winner!
