The playground will reflect the natural assets and Indigenous history of the site while providing accessibility and a sense of fun. We envisage multi-use equipment for all-abilities ensuring we are offering a playground that is suitable and beneficial to the wellbeing of our local connected communities and visitors alike. The playground will seamlessly blend with the surrounding landscape (9,000 hectare wetland restoration project) and utilise natural materials from within the site where possible.

The playground is set to be a destination that will generate a sense of place by responding to the local community’s needs. The space will act as a focal point that promotes active living and social connection. Subsequently the public open space will be designed in a way that provides the feeling of freedom and space, while creating a sense of connection to the bike trail and Mokoan Hub & Café.

Creating a space with links to Indigenous communities and culture and connecting Victorians with nature is a great project idea. We need more Victorians (and visitors) valuing nature!

The Winton hub is already an awesome place to visit, highlighting some of our regions natural flora and fauna. It would be fantastic to see it expand and continue to thrive, and be able to include EVERYONE with the all-abilities playground. Being only a short drive from nearby communities, I hope it goes ahead.

An excellent combination of an area for exercising and socialising with connecting to the indigenous history of the site.
