The weighbridge at Musk was installed by the Victorian Railways in the 1880s and is now in a very run down condition. The project will see the weighbridge hut structurally and externally restored along with the weighbridge deck to preserve this important part of the township of Musk's heritage.

The weighbridge mechanism will be removed, restored and installed as a working museum exhibit at the Bullarto railway station. This will include installing components into the already existing weighbridge cabin, excavating the original weighbridge pit, repairing such and constructing a new deck.

The weighbridge cabin at Musk is one of the few existing reminders of how farm produce was once the major economic activity at Musk and is important to the community as a physical reminder of this. It also provides a connection to the new industries at Musk such as Passing Clouds winery which is part of a primary production renaissance.

At Bullarto station the mechanical component restored to a fully operational Fairbanks 10t weighbridge will be a unique museum exhibition (the only one in Australia) for visitors to the railway, particularly for school groups.
