The Vineyard Restaurant Supporting Live Music

Michael Crane is an experienced Music and Poetry event promoter who has lived in South Melbourne for 20 years. In partnership with JMC Music Academy, we will offer a year’s program of free fortnightly music events on Saturday afternoons at The Blue Room Restaurant in Clarendon Street. We will pay established musicians such as Stephen Cummings, Monique Brumby, Rebecca Barnard, Chris Wilson, Greg Arnold from Things of Stone and Wood, The Cartridge Family (pictured) and many others supported by emerging musicians from JMC and other music colleges. They will be professionally run events open to all ages.

In South Melbourne, there are two Music Academies, four music retails shops, three Radio Stations ( Fox FM, Triple M, 3AW) but few live music venues especially in Clarendon Street. On the weekends the precinct is quiet and many traders struggle to survive. Michael has formed a partnership with JMC Music Academy who also believe music enhances shopping precincts, culturally and economically. St Kilda, Brunswick Street, Brunswick and Smith Street- Collingwood are all shopping precincts that have enormously benefitted from having live music in their region. We will work with traders and the community to revive Clarendon Street.
