The Hall needs to replace the deteriorated 60year-old Front-of-House curtain, stage curtaining, tracking and suspension system with flame retardant material, new tracking and trusses
The assets must be retired from 9 metres high and replaced.
The Hall hosts community events such as Women’s Yoga, Gentle Exercise, CWA and Senior Citizens. It is a Local Government Disaster Relief Centre too.
The stage is used by Murtoa College, Minyip-Murtoa Football and Netball Club, Murtoa Lions, Blue Light Disco, the Amateur Drama Club, concerts and shows. We also accommodate weddings, parties and funerals. A new curtain will give us a great boost.

Murtoa Hall is community built, owned and managed by a volunteer committee. It’s a much-loved community focus. It’s the only building in town capable of handling large crowds. The project will improve and extend the Hall’s life, make it more attractive to users, and increase community usage.

It will
-Provide greater safety for all as existing materials are not fire-retardant.
-Increase community pride in the improved facilities
-Improve volunteer OH&S as fixing malfunctions means risky at-height work
-Give a visual/aesthetic boost to the facilities.
-Coordinate with the heritage interior colours.
-Be simpler for student training

The Hall is the centre of entertainment, community fun, wonderful family events and performances, which keep the town and surrounds in a positive state of mind especially when times are a bit tough. This is of great community benefit.
