Multipurpose Electronic Scoreboard

While its primary purpose is scoring sporting activities at the Oval, the Scoreboard will be capable of a variety of applications for community engagement including cinema and concert. Stribling Reserve is also an Emergency Staging Area and the display would be used for community messaging in the event of emergencies.

Federal funds of $30K and Surf Coast Shire funds of $30K are pledged. Stribling Reserve Committee of Management and Lorne Football and Netball Club have each pledged $5K. All funding is contingent upon the Committee raising the balance of $100K

The Stribling Reserve Master Plan, produced in 2017, identifies that the reserve is more than just a sporting venue. It is a community hub already providing facilities for a wide variety of community activities. The electronic display will enhance and broaden activities that can be based on the oval e.g. elite training, regional sporting events (T20 night cricket), school use.

Stribling Reserve is a designated Emergency Staging Area. Lorne and environs are a high fire risk declared area and the scoreboard allows broad and time sensitive communication with community.
