Currently the Pyalong Playgroup and the Before and After School Care (BASC) services are operating from a temporary facility. We would love to provide a permanent building for these services to operate from. The playgroup provides an opportunity for pre-school-aged children and their parents to meet with other children and adults. Playgroup is a play-based program which also allows the children to expand their social interaction skills. The BASC service is closely linked to the Pyalong Primary School and provides vital child care for local children attending the school. BASC offers educational and recreational activities outside of normal school hours.
The Playgroup service provides an opportunity for local children and their parents to meet other members of the community. It provides support to parents who may or may not have a wide network of family and/or friends. It also allows children to simply play with others and have fun.
The BASC program is the only childcare program in the local community. BASC provides an opportunity for local parents to work whilst their children attend Pyalong Primary School. It also employs locals which in turn gives back to the small Pyalong community. Currently more than half the school population utilises BASC.

Thank you everyone for your support! Being a small community we need all of the support we can get from our neighbouring communities and we appreciate every single vote of confidence we can get.
In just the past 2 years, the school population has almost doubled in size and the playgroup has become more popular with more families moving into the area. We're seeing more families join our community every week which, before long, will mean that our resources will not be able to meet our demand.
Our kids need this! Playgroup is a chance for the kids to play and an outlet and mental support for their parents. BASC ensures that all of our kids needs are attended to outside of school hours. Being a small community, work is often some distance away.

This building is desperately needed as the school continues to grow. Otherwise there is a risk that the service will be oversubscribed, putting additional strain on families in our rural community.

With more and more families moving to the area, our small school is growing, along with the BASC program and playgroup. There needs to be a building that can house these vital programs and be better suited to the children’s needs, whilst still being a part of the school community to strengthen the ties between preschool and school aged children and their families.

We need a permanent building for the children and with more families moving into this growing area it is required sooner rather than later
