We will connect local choirs and skilled musicians from diverse cultures in and around the City of Darebin who are practising or wish to learn musical traditions, and create opportunities and events for people to share, learn and perform their music. We will liaise with participants to learn, translate, arrange and teach songs to share, and meet for two public ‘Song Café’ events, which participants and the audience share music and food from their different cultures.

Promoting supportive and inclusive relations in an arena where the common love and language of music breaks down barriers and creates bonds of friendship, goodwill and wellbeing. For the song cafe/performance events, participants will bring a plate of food to share that represents their culinary / cultural heritage. We will provide soup and beverages - breaking bread and singing together is a joyous bonding tradition in every culture on earth.

I love the vision of bringing diverse cultures together in music...combining contemporary and traditional music resulting in moving works of music that we all share.
