Mornington Soccer Club is the peninsulas oldest and biggest soccer club with seniors, women, veteran and junior players. Members have enjoyed the same clubrooms for nearly half a century and with Melbourne’s wild weather can rarely enjoy this winter sport with no windows to the grounds. Add to this a small verandah that barely fits more than 2 people deep and Australia’s fastest growing sport isn’t very accessible or enjoyable, especially for Mornington’s high English migrant soccer loving community. If this project goes ahead not only will the 550plus members enjoy the facility but so will the public.

Soccer is the fastest growing sport in Australia and the peninsula soccer community has always been strong with membership growing every year and the call and need for more facilities in the area. A more sustainable solution is to provide and upgrade in current facilities so families can watch their children play sport and the local fans can watch a successful senior team close to home.

Couldn’t think of a more deserving club than Mornington Soccer Club that would totally benefit from this major change and make viewing so much more enjoyable for its supporters

Mornington Soccer Club facilities are very tired and not a reflection of the hard work put in by the volunteers. For Mornington to step up to the NPL they really need to grow the support of the local community and these improvements will make viewing at the ground much more enjoyable for supporters and all the kids that come and watch the games.

This project is so long overdue.... ‘some say it’s a matter of life and death, I can assure them it’s more important than that’

For an elite sports club and to grow soccer on the Mornington Peninsula this is absolutely necessary. The management of the club is sound, the team is very good, unfortunately facilities have not kept pace.
