Mansfield's Not For Profit Community Cinema opened in 2009. The original sound system is now outdated. Customers no longer get the real movie experience where you are on the edge of your seat escaping the real world - a mental health benefit.
Charity organizations, community members young and old, families and visitors to the area will appreciate this enhancement of our project.
The new sound systems will give our school based apprentice students extra learning and experience. They will be involved with the installation, operation and maintenance of the new sound systems completing one of their TAFE assessments.
The new sound system will benefit local charity organisations holding fundraising movie nights with increased amount raised from higher tickets sales.
Customers with hearing difficulties will benefit with the hearing loop installed with the system.
MORE STUDENTS from the Mansfield Secondary School will have the opportunity to complete a school based apprenticeship in media. Students are trained in all aspects of the cinema, including retail and hospitality. They gain an understanding of the business side and are involved in all technical aspects of the cinema operations. Personal interactions with movie goers enhance their confidence for life after high school

It goes without saying that the Mansfield Armchair Cinema is an integral part of the greater Mansfield community.

In response to the district's loss of the old theatre, Mansfield Armchair Cinema set up an innovative, not-for-profit, business.
