Mountain Bike Track

To construct a mountain bike track within the Waubra Recreation Reserve. The public will have access to the track. The central Waubra location is easily accessible to Waubra and regional residents. It will be a short obstacle course (catering for varied abilities), encouraging children, adolescents and young adults to engage in the healthy physical pursuit of bike riding. Although the main activity for such a project is bike riding, it would also draw spectators, which creates and encourages a social hub. A mountain bike track would provide an activity that all family members could enjoy.

It is hoped that the bike track will encourage the young people of Waubra to socialize while participating in a positive physical activity. Outcomes include improved physical and metal health, youth engagement and greater opportunities for social interaction. Our community endeavors to create a positive environment for all ages. Bike riding is a low cost activity, that most can participate in. At present, younger Waubra residents have limited activities on offer. Waubra's tennis and cricket clubs have had to fold in recent times. A common interest (such as bike riding) nurtures a sense of belonging.
