In 1934 the 1st Australian Scouting Jamboree was held in Frankston. This event put Frankston onto the world wide stage. It is a huge historical draw card for Scouts all over the world and Montague Park was the centre of this magnificent event. Back in the day before all the houses this hill in Frankston was a tent city. 1st South Frankston Scout hall was built on Montague Park. But after years of salty wind and time our roof has rusted through. In the last 18 months termites have moved in. We need help to fix our hall.

Scouting is for ages from 5 to 25 years and leaders aged from 18+. We are a passionate Scout group. The rejuvenation of our Scout hall will allow us to focus on delivering a better program to our youths. We hope to once again have Venturers and Rovers a difficult age to appeal to. Currently our hall leaks water and smells of mould, the floor is poor and fragile and their is no acknowledgement of the history of our park which put Frankston into the Hall of Fame. We need your help from the local community to rectify this please.

I've been there with my little scout for combined lesson. The atmosphere is very friendly and people are nice. But the building is litterally falling apart. There were a hole in the floor. It's not just ugly, it's not safe.
It's a worthy project!

we should be encouraging more of our youth to join such organisations - they deserve a functional and safe hall to meet.

About time the scout halls in our area got some love. I fully support this application to further allow Scouting to be a large part of the Frankston community for a long long time

Our Scout Hall is a vital tool in our community. It brings together so many like-minded groups who are all volunteers and the impacts on our community ranges from Joey's, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers benefiting from Scouting, Pencils Community delivering pencils to faraway places, community events getting organized by Rotary and seeing eye-dog getting fundraised for by Lions. Lets not forget the dance classes and this is only a small snap shot in the life of our hall. The restoration will also include joining the Frankston heritage trail acknowledging the history of the 1st Scout Jamboree in Australia which was held in Frankston.

Let restoration create history! How exciting and proud would the repair of the hall be for so many young people in the area, too good to let it just fall apart.
