Mitchell Avenue Urban Farm Social Enterprise will provide a place to practice urban farming, engage members in the growing, harvesting, preparing and marketing seasonal produce.

Provide opportunities to study permaculture and organic farming and inspire people to grow food in an urban environment.

Create an environment where community can connect and share resources, skills and farming knowledge.

Create a sustainable community supported agriculture model and inspire people to engage in the purchase, preparation and consumption of local season food.

Facilitate the delivery of life skills and educational workshops.

Build relationships with similar supporting organisations to deliver the project vision.

Urban farm social enterprise will be a leader in urban farming in our community. Teaching and inspiring people to grow, harvest, prepare and eat local seasonal produce.

It will provide pathways for young people to learn about small scale agriculture, engage and encourage older people to utilise their skills and knowledge of urban farming, build active healthy communities, reducing obesity, diabetes and dementia.

Repurposing the Yarrunga pool kiosk, toilets and surrounding buildings into a small cafe, workshop space, tool shed and processing area will turn disused buildings into a creative, vibrant and productive community space.

Great idea. There are two schools that abut this area, so maybe these school can get involved with the care of the gardens.
