Milawa Primary School - Community Kitchen

This project will look to deliver an outdoor kitchen at Milawa Primary School. The kitchen will be a space that will allow fresh grown produce, to be put together into delicious food, that will be shared with the wider community as a welcoming meal.
The creation of a wood fired oven, preparation areas, shelter, and tables, will provide a learning environment for our kids, that teaches the value of a good healthy meal, with produce they have grown themselves, shared amongst others.

Within our small community, the school connects many families together as a hub. The outdoor kitchen will look to offer an opportunity for those families to extend their connections and build stronger relationships across the community, strengthen social inclusion, and build community resilience. The kitchen will allow students the opportunity to provide back to those that often support them, by being able to grow food and provide meals at community dinners. Students will spend time tending to their already established veggie garden, raising chooks, and learning skills that will help them become more rounded, resilient learners, as prepare meals.
