We have just moved to Tyabb Primary school this term, and I was most surprised to see that this was the playground that the entire middle school had to play on. Not only did my son come home and say, "Mum, we have to wait in line to play on the playground and then recess/lunch is over before I get a go." As a parent of 4 children, I know how important playtime is, and when it is such a long day at school it is important that they can enjoy that "OUTSIDE playtime" and play safely with their friends. The equipment currently at the school is way below acceptable in this day and age and we do hope that this project will be granted!

Tyabb Primary school has a population of 410 students. We have magnificent playgrounds funded by money raised by parents. The grade 3/4 playground is the last one to be updated / replaced. The 127 middle school students have been so patient and understanding when they see the other students in the school being able to play on their much more substantial playgrounds. A new playground for these students would be used at recess and lunchtime, on weekends by families and be utilised for sport lessons. Please help the middle school students :)
This project would benefit the entire 410 students at Tyabb Primary School at some stage during their time with us. Our playgrounds are selected due to the suitability of heights (OHS requirements), what the children want in their playgrounds and community feedback. These students desperately want to have a new playground that challenges them physically and gives them satisfaction at their recess and lunch breaks. This playground can also be utilised by our sports teacher for his lessons and also as an outdoor learning environment.

It would be amazing to have the last playground at Tyabb Primary updated/replaced and to have another piece of sporting equipment added to the school. The middle school students need a larger playground and help them to be physically active during recess and lunchtime.

This would be absolutely amazing for our school. The middle school playground is too small for the amount of students.
