Mens Shed Setup

Swan Hill Neighbourhood House opened a brand new facility in May of 2018 after a great deal of effort by many community organisations and government. We have now established a men’s shed, art and other social groups. These groups need funds to pursue their social enterprise projects. The men’s shed needs small scale equipment, drill bits, sharpeners etc. The facility still has some unfinished projects, such as painting, backsplashes and an internal ceiling. We need safety equipment such as fire extinguishers alarms. With the funding, we have several projects in line to generate money for our ongoing costs to operate

The facility benefits the wider community and provides an auspice options to other groups such as the local hospital, day-care groups and the elderly. Unable to find an appropriate space previously, we now have a functioning pottery group, junior and senior art groups and several Men’s Shed like activity groups, with more planned in the future. The Neighbourhood House umbrella provides an ideal networking opportunity to benefit the whole community. This new Men’s Shed hopes to take our projects and efforts further into the community and will help local organisations such as schools, hospitals and local clubs.
