Maroondah Reservoir Park has more than 100,000 visitors a year from a wide array of different cultural backgrounds. The park has a variety of stakeholders that would benefit directly from new playground facilities, particularly the Bush Kinder & Mothers fitness group, who bring their babies along every Wednesday morning. The familiar site of weekend family picnics in warmer months, will be improved by a new functional and safe playground space, allowing children to explore and play whilst being surrounded by the amazing native plants and animals the park has to offer.

Maroondah Reservoir Park acts as a family friendly space for locals and visitors alike, to spend time in the beautiful heritage gardens . Healesville is rapidly growing in population and tourism, putting forward higher need for functional & safe community spaces for families. Friends of MRP have monthly working bees to maintain the gardens, but currently have no funding available to improve infrastructure. Due to lack of on ground staff, the playground has deteriorated overtime. A bright new space for children and adults would greatly improve health and wellbeing of the community, encouraging outdoor play in a stunning natural environment.

This playground needs to be brought into the 21st century. Something visually engaging and physically challenging for all primary school aged children. Let's not keep our kids in cotton balls!
