The only way to redeem the community's vandalism in removing the historic Grandstand on this spot is to replace it with a facility which is 'fit for purpose', architecturally attractive and is in line with current needs for the town's main attraction, The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival. The festival is perennially popular but the facilities are basic. Considering the number of years this festival has been running and the amount of volunteering that has gone into this multifaceted event one could say the town has completed its apprenticeship. It is now up to the government to contribute to the next step - making this a truely Australia-wide event. For this to happen the project should be funded to celebrate our past, present and future. The post code is one of the poorest in Victoria and this should be seen (in the absence of appropriate regional policies) as an important stimulus project.

Enjoyed the festival this year and will no doubt in the future. The proposed improvements will make the festival even more enjoyable for attendees and satisfying for competitors

I have spoken to numerous people about my concerns regarding the lack of shade provided in the disabled area of seating around the arena area. I am disappointed that even after so many complaints and concerns, this is STILL not a priority. I have sat and watched from my seat, these poor souls who cannot freely move about sitting in searing heat and nobody seems to care. I can get up and move if i'm uncomfortable and hot. The wheelchair bound, families and others supporting the disabled aren't able to move about as freely as we can and not only that, if they are too hot or getting wet in their seats, where else are they supposed to see the events??? Sitting behind the standing? Last year there were people walking around selling tickets to raise money for a disabled toilet! Really????? This isn't a priority either even when there are dozens of toilets for the able bodied everywhere. What is going on here? Why are we so focused on the the facilities for competitors and horses but we cannot seem to provide the simplest facilities for the disabled. I have been attending this event for approximately 7 years now. Every year I say something about this concern and every year someone says "yes we are looking into it" or "send an email" or "it has to be put before the commitee". Is there anyone out there as frustrated as me about this? I am an able bodied person but cannot stand to see the disabled area UNSHADED yet the shaded area for the VIP or over 50's tent sits there enjoying the comfort of the shade. Appalling MFSR. Appalling.................Please DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.....

The Festival is an amazing event and the highlight of my year. Some improvements in the seating and some more shade along with an improved arena would make it even better.
Well worth improving the facilities to cater for an ever growing crowd and way better for horses and competitors. Bring on 2019

This upgrade will be a huge boon for the area and make sure the events held there can continue to grow in popularity and still be safe for competitors and spectators

A fantastic event that entertains thousands and brings much needed income to such a small rural community. The event has outgrown the facilities which desperately need to be upgraded to manage the huge crowds who attend and provide a safer venue for competitors. Improved facilities would also benefit the wider equine community for all year round events.
