A weekend of hands-on workshops and pithy lectures to share skills and knowledge. From bread, pasta, passata, salami, cheese and wine making, to fermenting and pickling, or creating a vegetable garden, composting, foraging and keeping chickens and bees. The workshops will include pottery, natural dyeing, mending, repair and upcycling, with forums on reducing waste. Our wish is to create stronger, more connected and sustainable communities, with dedicated workshops inviting people and local organisations to explore ideas for neighbourhood and community sharing and sustainable programs. We welcome all to participate with their hands, feet, friends and ideas.
By facilitating this trading of skills, knowledge and ideas, we can build a healthier, more enjoyable, vibrant, connected and sustainable community. Using this platform, the richness of the region's diverse cultural traditions and knowledge can also be celebrated and appreciated.
The weekend will have three components: over 50 workshops (many without cost to locals); free lectures from specialists; community forums exploring ideas that encourage sustainability and connection, with local organisations invited to help action the greatest ideas for long term community benefit.
The weekend will be promoted widely, and its establishment will allow for the event to be repeated annually.
