We want to support as many people as possible to be involved in cycling related activities. This project targets keeping our older generation active and independent by addressing some of the key barriers they face - With e-bikes they will be able to continue riding in our hilly region. Members of the community that have trouble with balance (including the elderly) will be able to use the electric trikes. For those elderly that are lonely and unable to ride, volunteers will use the bikes to visit them to keep them company.

Elderly community members often reluctantly stop cycling due to the hills in the area and also for safety, because their balance isn't as good as it used to be.
There are multiple benefits:
• Social
o Health - cycling activities, active transport
o Mental health – connect to others
o Meet new friends
o Easy to get involved with – bite-sized volunteering
o Support other local community groups
o Support school VCAL activities

• Environmental
o Reduction of waste landfill
o Less car travel - reduced CO2
o See new parts of the region by bike
o Connection to nature
