We enable, and encourage, our community to use part of our school grounds after hours (the football/soccer fields and an adjacent area called Jack's Paddock). It is a place for families to meet and have picnics, for school children to play on playground equipment and for memories to be made. Students in every class regularly come with their families to the grounds on weekends. Unfortunately, an empty space with dirt and sand is being wasted and we need to redevelop Jack's Paddock into an improved area which will be a more welcoming and warmer space.
Moonee Ponds West Primary School has a long history of community involvement in all activities and provides open access to school grounds on weekends to allow families to connect, enjoy the outdoors, and create communities. The school regularly has outdoor events and it has become obvious that Jack's Paddock needs a significant makeover. School children and others in the community love coming to our school on the weekend to kick a ball, invent a game, and have a picnic and we would love to enhance this experience by giving children options for both adventurous and imaginative play.

A space that could be set up and used a lot more by the 100’s of community members that use the school as a recreational facility on the weekend as most houses don’t have big backyards in the local area. Let’s support the school to improve this area and watch kids and families have fun!
