The Busy Bus will address an urgent need in the community, providing a localised pick up service enabling people with limited mobility and those socially isolated to easily access the MRH Health Precinct including Men's Shed and exercise groups. This bus would have wheelchair access to ensure it is inclusive and would be a true community resource, to be utilised by community groups on weekends and after hours. This assists those people who are frail, aged, have a disability, young , socially isolated and people without a licence to connect to their community and enhance their health and wellbeing.

Gisborne' s significant growth is impacting those most vulnerable in the community and placing pressure on community infrastructure. Car parks in particular, require an innovative approach.
This initiative would enhance access to valuable health and social activities. Borrowing park'n'ride principles, this project decentralises parking pressure to ensure safe access to health services for the frail, aged, people with a disability and others who may not otherwise be able to access health and social activities.
The bus would be supported by a team of volunteers and would also provide affordable and disability accessible transport for community groups to utilise.
