Love Where You Live Through Art

Local artists, including budding artists, will be invited to create a piece of work inspired by the beautiful and historically rich region of the Upper Yarra. A series of workshops and speakers will be developed, tailored to suit established and emerging artists. The workshops will cover topics such as abstraction, landscape composition, portraiture and understanding colour.

Participants will also receive guidance to engage with a mentor to assist them to progress towards their artistic goals.

The project will conclude with a showcase exhibition of completed works for the wider community to enjoy and celebrate, as well as participants themselves.

Participants will have fun, learn new skills and connect with others who share a similar passion.

The final exhibition will showcase local talent and provide a window into what is wonderful about the people, places and experiences of the Upper Yarra.

The Upper Yarra is a socio-economically diverse community with a range of significant challenges including isolation and loneliness. Communities who are connected and inclusive tend to be stronger, more resilient and healthier. This project will bring people together and foster new relationships and connections through a creative learning environment focusing on what is great about where we live.
