The Golden Square Swimming Pool is unique as it’s a community managed pool with 20 volunteers, and paid life guards. The City of Greater Bendigo has extended its tenancy for another 2 years based on the proviso that we upgrade the facilities in accordance with current standards. And compare patronage with the Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre.
To achieve this obligation, a purpose built shed will be installed to adhere to all safety regulations under the relevant pool standards to provide safe storage and management of chemicals.

The Community would benefit with a shed that complies with safety regulations, there will be a low risk factor in terms of accidents effecting water quality, a shed that provides a safe working environment for the pool operator and lifeguards. On the remote chance that they were a chemical spill, it would be managed with minimal risk to patrons.
This would also allow for a more seamless storage of chemicals and safe manoeuvring of, and dosing of chemicals to allow lifeguards to focus on their core business of safety and pool quality to the people of Golden Square.

My husband and step-daughters love going to our local pool here in Golden Square every summer! We are looking forward to this summer especially to bring our 8 month old for his first swim in a few months time. The volunteers do a fabulous job providing a relaxing environment for us to enjoy family time and the lifeguards have always been diligent and friendly.
