Monterey Secondary College is set to become a Centre of Excellence with a strong emphasis on Sports and Health Science.
The Centre of Excellence will involve a focus on STEM including the use of state of the art technologies to analyse data around sports performance at an Individual and team level.
Central to the college's pursuit of being a Centre Of Excellence are the partnerships formed with local stakeholder groups, which include the Pines Football Netball Club.
The Football/Netball Club is located next to the college and with many students as members, it presents as the ideal initial partner organisation.

In a recent community consultation around a Frankston North Education Plan it was clear that many of our young people could benefit by becoming more aspirant.
Central to this need is the benefit of working alongside positive role models including local sports people.
It has been identified that over the coming years numerous opportunities exist for post secondary pathways in the field of healthcare and sports science.
The opportunity for our students to apply 'STEM' technologies to various aspects of human performance has a close alignment with the requisite skills to pursue further education and training in this space.
