The current playground is in dire need of replacing, due to its age, condition and functionality. The project aims to replace the existing 25 year old playground with a natureplay playground that will provide a far greater variety of play experiences for the fast growing community of Portarlington and also the Bellarine Peninsula. The community has provided through consultation, key attributes that have shaped this design, including accessibility, water features, flying foxes, swings, a challenging climbing ropes course, extensive native landscaping and community artwork.
The community has lobbied for the replacement of the aging playground over many years. More recently the City of Greater Geelong and Bellarine Bayside have partnered to develop the Little Reserve Playground Community Playspace. The final design has been shaped through community feedback and engagement with the local school and kinder. This sub regional playground is the main playground for Portarlington, but also the Northern Bellarine Peninsula. Replacing this playground will ensure the communities playspace needs are met for the next 10-15 years.

We love Portarlington & it definitely needs this! The park has the best view in Victoria and deserves the much needed upgrade! Fingers crossed we can get this play space approved 🤞🌊☀️👊

My three kids play here quiet a bit. The facilities need updating with swings and a modern fun inviting space. With all the hype around Portarlington this would make younger family’s more attracted to the area.😀

Small investment for huge reward. With the many visitors coming via ferry, for the many festivals and sporting events would highlight an already beautiful park. With a rapidly growing local community it would make the park another asset to beautiful Portarlington.

Little Reserve is THE major playground on the North Bellarine and seriously needs to be updated.

The view from this playground has to be the best coastal view in Victoria . A well needed upgrade in the planning , this is a area well used by many visitors to the town and along with the locals.
