Nature Adventure Playground at Manangatang P-12 College

We hope to build a nature play area for the approximately 100 students at the Manangatang P-12 College. Currently there are limited play based opportunities for the younger students. Students and the wider community will have access which will benefit students of today and the future.
The garden will consist of materials such as logs, trees for balancing and climbing, rocks, tyres for tunnels and gardens, branches to create tee pees, slabs, mosaics and stumps for creative paths.
This can become an learning opportunity for students of all years with planning suggestions provided by the older students.

The nature playground provides an opportunity for the town to come together to plan and develop a nature a playground that will suit both the students and the wider community. Manangatang has a strong community spirit and although a small College it is keen to provide the best learning opportunities for the students who attend. Play based education has proven to be beneficial and provide numerous learning opportunities for the students both within and outside the classroom. The proposed fire pit can also provide a meeting place for students and the wider community outside of school hours further fostering community.
