The project will involve the development an area of land (250 sqm) being part of a property leased by the Lilydale Bowls Club from the Yarra Ranges Council. The site is situated between two bowling greens and presently has limited use due to its topography. Improvements will include establishing a level area supported by a retaining wall, inbuilt barbecues, a shelter, seating and shade umbrellas. The area is adjacent to the council buildings, parking and other sport and recreational areas. Access which will not be restricted through fences, will be available to the whole community with controlled usage of facilities.
The project supports an outdoor activity (lawn bowls), offering the community the opportunity to enjoy a mild physical activity in a social atmosphere supported by facilities that are comfortable, adequate cater for their requirements and are environmentlly friendly.
The Lilydale Bowls Club is an organisation that supports its community. The club has schools, disadvantaged groups, disabled, volunteer services, small business, families and individuals using its facilities with support from its members.
Additional outside lighting has been recently installed to meet increasing demand and changing lifestyles.
This project enhances the clubs vision and provides infrastructure to benefit the community.

This Project will enhance the whole bowling community. Families, single parents, disable people, social bowlers. The Lildale Bowls Club are doers, so everybody get behind this project everybody in the community are welcome We are known as the friendly Club. Trevdog

This area will create a great viewing platform overlooking 2 Greens. This will allow far better viewing of the Green used for the Premier Bowls team as well as Barefoot Bowls and other social activities. which at present is almost non existent and also allow far better utilisation of green 2 which now has LED Lights allowing for far better night time socialising between the greens. The club prides it's self on community involvement and this will benefit not just the Club .

The Lilydale Bowls Club has been a brilliant supporter of community minded projects like 'Mum's on the Green', local school programs, barefoot bowls and new game formats of the sport, like 'Quicka Bowls'.
